Admitting the Truth

    Knuckles soon fell asleep, right there guarding the Master Emerald, in his beautiful Angel Island. What he didn’t know was that behind the trees Rouge was admiring him. “*sigh* oh, knuckles, he looks so cute when he’s asleep.” Rouge thought to her self. Knuckles felt someone was spying him and woke up and said “who’s there?!!! If you want the Master Emerald, the too bad, you’ll have to go through me first!!!”  “Oh no he’s awake!” rouge said, unfortunately too loud. “Rouge?” said knuckles. Rouge got out from her hiding place and said “hi Knuckie! What a beautiful island!” “What do you want?!” asked knuckles. Rouge looked at him and thought “he must think I only want the Master Emerald, but I don’t want that! I love him, but how could I tell him”  “SO WHAT IS IT?!!”  Knuckles yelled at her. Rouge was ready to just fly away when knuckles punched her. He punched her so hard that she fell and crash on a big stone, suddenly it began to rain, rouge didn’t get up and that made knuckles feel a little worried. He patted in her face but there was no response. He then saw that there was a huge wound in her hip and was bleeding, knuckles knew that was what he had done to her. Then he saw the blood in his knuckles and began to cry “I thought I was protecting the Master Emerald as I promised to my ancestors but I guess I did more than that… she’s gone.”
Knuckles gently held her in his arms. “I’m sorry rouge. What have I done!!” knuckles said crying “rouge! I…I love you!! I love you rouge!! And look what I’ve done to you!” knuckles then approached to her lips and whispered once more “I love you” and kissed her. Suddenly the rain stopped and rouge slowly opened her eyes. “Knuckles?” she asked with a soft voice “rouge!! You’re alive!!! You’re alive!! I don’t know what I’d do with out you!!” knuckles said with a relieved voice “wha-what happened?” she asked “I thought I had lost you forever!”  Then rouge saw her injury. “Are you fine rouge?” knuckles asked worried “I-I-I’m hurt” rouge said “I know you are. It’s my fault” said knuckles “don’t worry Knuckie! I know ill be fine… and knuckles there’s something I need to tell you, I… I love you too! And I always have loved you! But I hid my feelings, because I didn’t want to get hurt if you didn’t love me back. But know I know you do” rouge began to cry as she said that. Knuckles held her and said “don’t cry rouge! Please don’t!” and she smiled at him. Knuckles kissed her once more and rouge kissed him back.
